You only sit down when you need a job
Then two or three years of work arrive at once. The decisions, the numbers, the mess you cleaned up never make it onto the page.
Available now · founding price locked
Most people ignore the CV until they start looking for a new job. Then two or three years of projects, numbers, and half-written notes hit at once, and a lot never makes the page. Drop in an existing resume, or the facts you already jotted down. Merit reads that, asks follow-up questions for the gaps, and writes a CV from what you confirm.
Free plan: one conversation and one tailored CV. No card required.

The problem
Recruiters are buried in AI-bulk applications, so they filter harder. The escape hatch is not volume or a cleverer rephrasing. It is a CV that is specific, verifiable, and obviously about your work.
Then two or three years of work arrive at once. The decisions, the numbers, the mess you cleaned up never make it onto the page.
Rewriters polish your words and quietly inflate them. Interviewers ask one follow-up question and the story falls apart, which is worse than a plain CV.
Each posting asks for something slightly different. A single generic document silently misses requirements you could have met, and you never find out why you were filtered.
The market
Most people ignore the document until they start looking. Then they try to reconstruct years of work in a week, often from a file they last touched as a student. Openings have thinned. Application volume has exploded. A lot of what recruiters see is the same AI paragraph with a different name.
US job openings
Fewer seats than the 2022 peak. Same habit of waiting until you need the CV.
BLS JOLTS via FRED (JTSJOL), monthly, seasonally adjusted, Jan 2019 to Jul 2026. Every vertex is an official month. Peak Mar 2022: 12.3M. Dec 2025: 6.5M.
Applications per role
Nearly three times the pile on each desk. Two published years, not a fitted curve.
Greenhouse, customer data pulled August 2025: 28 applications per job in 2021, 95 in 2025.
Applications per seeker
More volume, not more interviews. Indexed to late 2019. LinkedIn’s words: “roughly twice.”
LinkedIn Economic Graph, May 2025: US seekers submit roughly twice as many applications as before the pandemic.
73% of HR professionals say fewer than half the applications they get meet the criteria (LinkedIn, Jan 2025). That is a survey share, not a time series, so it is not drawn as a chart.
Keep the work written down while you still remember it: the number, the project, the mess you cleaned up. When you do sit down, do not start from a blank page. Upload the resume you have, or the notes you already wrote. Merit asks the follow-up questions. The CV that comes out is specific to your work, not another AI filler document.
How it works
Upload an existing resume, or paste the notes and numbers you have already written down. You do not reconstruct two or three years from a blank page.
Merit analyzes what you sent and follows up on the gaps: the project you forgot, the figure you never wrote down, the context a recruiter would ask for.
Every claim comes back as an evidence candidate. You confirm, correct, or delete it. Nothing enters your CV until you say it is real.
Merit drafts an honest CV from what you verified. Paste a job if you want it tailored. You review, download, and submit. Merit never applies for you.
The moat you own
Everything you confirm accumulates in one private, encrypted record of your career: the part of Merit you keep even after you’re hired.
Vault data is encrypted at rest, scoped to your account alone, and never mixed into anyone else’s record.
By design, not by policyExport everything, or delete your account and vault completely. No retention traps, and no “contact support to remove your data”.
Export and full deleteA rules-enforced framework checks the draft against your confirmed evidence. If it isn’t in the vault, it doesn’t go in the CV.
Evidence-checked draftsYour vault compounds. Next job search, next promotion, next pivot: you start from a real record instead of a blank page.
Built once, reusedWhere we are today: The interview, vault, and tailoring loop are what you use now. Some extras (mail tracking, employer-side dashboards) are not built yet, and we will say so on this page rather than in a footnote. Phone: use the browser, and install the web app from the browser when the product is live. Native App Store and Play Store packages are being built from that same app. This page will not show store download buttons until those listings exist.

Questions
No. A rewriter starts from a document you already wrote and makes it sound better. Merit starts from whatever you already have: an old resume, scattered notes, or both. It then interviews you to capture the work behind the bullet points, and keeps that evidence in a vault. The CV is a downstream output of a record about you, which is why you can defend it in an interview, and why the next CV takes minutes instead of hours.
It is built not to. Drafts are constrained to evidence you explicitly confirmed, and a rules layer checks the output for claims that aren’t backed. If a requirement on a job posting has no matching evidence, Merit tells you it’s a gap. It doesn’t paper over it with confident-sounding fiction.
Never. Merit can prepare the CV, the answers and the form fields, and the browser concierge can type them into a careers page for you, but you review and you press submit. No auto-apply, no applications sent from an account you don’t control.
Your vault is encrypted at rest and isolated to your account. You can export everything or delete your account and its vault outright. These are product features we will be precise about. We won’t claim “zero knowledge” if it isn’t literally true, because the tailoring step has to read your evidence to work.
Founding members keep $19.99/mo for as long as they remain subscribed. New members after the offer ends pay the standard $49/mo. We won’t quietly move existing members onto a higher plan. That promise is the whole point of a founding price.
